2017–18 Season: Siegmund and Froh in Der Ring des Nibelungen

Tenor Brandon Jovanovich has been a frequent performer at San Francisco Opera, including as Walther von Stolzing in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg in 2015 and in the Company’s Susannah in 2014, Lohengrin in 2012, and Ring cycle in 2011. Recent career highlights include Sergei in Shostakovich’s Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk and Don José in Carmen at the Metropolitan Opera; Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and San Francisco Symphony; a concert version of Fidelio with the San Francisco Symphony; and Janáček’s Glagolitic Mass with Jiří Bělohlávek and the Czech Philharmonic at Vienna’s Musikverein. He also performed the Prince in David McVicar’s new production of Rusalka at Lyric Opera of Chicago and Don José at LA Opera, the Dallas Opera, Opernhaus Zürich, and Houston Grand Opera. In the 2015–16 season, Jovanovich returned to Zurich for his role debuts as the Drum Major in a new production of Wozzeck and as Hermann in Robert Carsen’s production of Pique Dame. He also returned to the Baverian State Opera in Munich as the Chevalier des Grieux in Manon Lescaut, and as Don José. Jovanovich concluded the season with his company debut at Opera Australia as Don José.
